Chief Medical Officer
How is low testosterone diagnosed?
Diagnosis requires one blood test measuring total and free testosterone levels, ideally taken in the morning. Other hormone and health markers will also be checked to rule out underlying causes.
What does treatment involve?
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) typically involves regular administration of testosterone via injections, gels, or other delivery methods, prescribed and monitored by a qualified doctor.
How long until I notice results?
Many patients report improvements in energy, mood, and libido within 3–6 weeks. Physical changes such as muscle gain or fat loss may take 3–6 months, with full benefits continuing up to 12 months.
How much does TRT cost?
Subscription – $120/month
Includes unlimited doctor consultations, unlimited messaging, personalised treatment plan, patient support, and portal access.
Medication – $232 every 2–3 months (varies by dose).
Injection Supplies – Included with medication price.
Blood Tests - New patients: $0 bulk billed for eligible patients, otherwise $182 comprehensive blood test. Ongoing patients: $175 at week 8 and every 4 months.
Estimated Yearly Cost: $2,475–$3,000 (varies by dose and required bloodwork).
Is it covered by Medicare?
Our initial blood tests are covered by medicare for eligible patients after doctor aproval. All ongoing consultations and fees are not covered by medicare.
Is TRT legal in Australia?
Yes, TRT is legal in Australia to patients that are diagnosed with low testosterone through blood testing and a consultation with an AHPRA registered doctor.
We only prescribe testosterone replacement therapy to patients who genuinely need it - confirmed by low testosterone levels and experiencing a lower quality of life from symptoms.
What are the TRT side effects?
Like all medical treatments there is potential for side effects to occur. Our protocols use the minimal effective dosage as clinically indicated to minimise the chance of any side effects occurring.
Some potential side effects of TRT include: Low sperm count, testicular atrophy, increased oil production, acne, increased red blood cell production, gynecomastia, hypertension.
Is TRT a lifelong treatment?
Yes, TRT is a lifelong treatment. TRT replaces your body's natural production of testosterone with an exogenous (external) source of testosterone which is administered though an injection or gel. Once a patient starts TRT, their body shuts down its natural production of testosterone.
If a man chooses to stop TRT, the natural production be restarted, however this can often take a long time, and they will go back to suffering the symptoms of low testosterone.
